Tasmania Opens for Travel

4 February 2020
Bay of Fires Tasmania

Tasmania is about to welcome the travellers with the tourism season to open. Tasmania is best to visit from September to May as the attractions are open, the weather is beautiful (although still a little fresh at times) and local produce abundant.

It is also great for a long weekend, but you can easily spend a few months here as well. From beaches to historical sites, it is by far one of the most beautiful and diverse places you can visit.

Hobart Harbour

Hobart

Spend a few days visiting coffee shops and art galleries, or a day trip to Port Arthur.

Cradle Mountain

A hiker’s dream – with spectacular scenery and a range of hikes to suit everyone. There is a boardwalk for much of the route, but it is still spectacular, for those that require a path and an easier hike. Ideal for children, elderly or people who require accessibility. Cradle Mountain is one of the most popular destinations in Tasmania.

The East Coast

Home to beautiful beaches, often you are lucky enough to have them all to yourself. Allow plenty of time for the drive as there are lovely places to stop off along the way.

Freycinet National Park

Visit Wineglass Bay, one of the most famous locations on the East Coast. Spend some time exploring and hiking the area.

Stanley

On the rugged West Coast, this area has beautiful scenery and unique features such as the historical train trip. Well worth the drive.
