DAY 1 HOME PORTS, LAUNCESTON, WYNYARD (D)
Fly from home ports to Launceston, where our luxury coach awaits our arrival. We begin our holiday by travelling to Sheffield, a town of murals, that depict early life in the area. Time to view the murals before afternoon tea here. Continue via the coastal city of Devonport before arriving into Wynyard.

Day 2 STANLEY, QUEENSTOWN, STRAHAN (B,L,D)
Visit Table Cape and then the historic coastal town of Stanley, lunch here at the Stanley Hotel. Ride the Nut chairlift. Later we travel to Tullah and Queenstown, once a large copper mining centre, known for its “lunar like” stark surrounding hills. Guided tour of the town on arrival which will be home for the next two nights.

Day 3 GORDON RIVER CRUISE (B,L,D)
A highlight today as we board our cruise vessel MV Lady Jane Franklin II for a magnificent cruise across Macquarie Harbour, viewing Hell’s Gate harbour entrance, commercial salmon farms and the amazing Gordon River, plus a rainforest walk through ancient forests (see a 2,000 year old tree) and a visit to Sarah Island, a notorious convict settlement. Lunch as we cruise. On our return, time for a stroll in Strahan, visit the craft shops, cafés or the Huon Pine Mill. Prior to dinner at our hotel, enjoy the humorous live play “The Ship That Never Was”, based on a true story of the Great Escape from Sarah Island.

Day 4 LAKE ST CLAIRE, WALL IN THE WILDERNESS, RUSSELL FALLS, HOBART (B,L,D)
Departing Queenstown today we journey to Hobart. View Lake St Clair, the deepest natural glacial lake in the southern hemisphere, as we travel. Today lunch at the Derwent Bridge Hotel. Visit “Wall in the Wilderness” Gallery, an amazing story told in large wooden sculptures. We continue via Hamilton to Russell Falls, beautiful “wide angle” falls in Mt Field National Park. A short journey into Hobart and our home for two nights.

Day 5 HOBART, SALAMANCA MARKETS, CASCADE BREWERY, ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS OR MONA (B,L,D)
For the “market lovers” we visit Hobart’s Salamanca huge outdoor market this morning, with more than 300 stalls selling fresh and gourmet produce, arts and crafts. Later in the morning we visit Cascade Brewery, join the Heritage walking tour of the grounds, hear about the interesting characters that graced its presence. Our tour concludes with tastings and lunch in the Cascade Café. During the afternoon we enjoy harbour views (weather permitting) from the Signal Station at Mt Nelson and then a visit to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. As an alternative, you may wish to visit Museum of Old & New Art (MONA) home to modern and contemporary art. Following dinner, try your luck at Wrest Point Casino, enjoying the city lights as we travel.

Day 6 RICHMOND, BICHENO (B,D)
Visit the historic village of Richmond, fascinating heritage and culture. Enjoy a self guided tour of the Richmond Gaol. Browse among many period buildings and art/craft shops and attractions. During the afternoon visit Swansea Bark Mill. We continue to Bicheno on the east coast where the tour spend the night.

Day 7 BICHENO, ,ST HELENS, DERBY, LAUNCESTON (B,L,D)
This morning visit East Coast Natureworld, set amongst 150 acres of natural parklands and lagoons and featuring many of Tasmania’s unique wildlife. Lunch today at St Helens before we continue to Derby and visit the Tin Mine Centre and Scottsdale before arriving into Launceston for farewell drinks and then our dinner together.

Day 8 LAUNCESTON, CATARACT GORGE, HOME PORTS (B,L)
This morning we view the stunning vertical cliffs as we cruise into the Cataract Gorge, followed by a walk into the gorge. You may wish to ride on the world’s longest single span chairlift or walk across the historic bridge. Lunch today at Victoria’s Café in the beautiful Albert Hall heritage building. Following lunch we transfer to Launceston airport, completing a short and most enjoyable tour of Tasmania.
